Park in the Park
Building a Community Space
Park in the Park
Building Our Community
The “Park in the Park” initiative is an exciting project designed to enhance the front of Highland Park by creating a welcoming community space. Our vision includes adding much-needed shade structures and other amenities to make the area more comfortable, versatile, and enjoyable for students, families, and the entire neighborhood.
This project is about more than just improving the school grounds—it’s about fostering a sense of community and encouraging connection in a shared outdoor space.
Construction Update
We are excited to share that major progress has been made over fall break! Concord Construction has completed their portion of the project — including the installation of shade structures, electrical work for lighting and outlets, and newly poured concrete to make the space usable for parents and families. A cast-in-place concrete bench is also now in place.
Proscape Landscaping is currently finishing the final landscaping phase, and the space will be ready just in time for our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, October 24 at 5:30 PM, immediately before Trunk or Treat.
This project would not have been possible without the support of our partners. Thank you to:
GH2 Architects for donating the conceptual design
Proscape Landscaping, who are donating some of their costs
Concord Construction, who generously donated a portion of their fees
Gilbert Public Schools District, who supported this project and donated and planted four of the trees
We are grateful for everyone who helped bring this vision to life and cannot wait to celebrate this milestone with our school community!.
