Park in the Park
Building Our Community
The “Park in the Park” initiative is an exciting project designed to enhance the front of Highland Park by creating a welcoming community space. Our vision includes adding much-needed shade structures and other amenities to make the area more comfortable, versatile, and enjoyable for students, families, and the entire neighborhood.
This project is about more than just improving the school grounds—it’s about fostering a sense of community and encouraging connection in a shared outdoor space.
Progress and Goals
We are finally bringing this vision to life! We’re excited to announce that construction for Park in the Park will begin over Fall Break. Get ready—our campus is about to transform! Much-needed shade is coming to Highland Park, creating a more comfortable and inviting space for our students and families.
To help offset the costs, we are seeking partners and donors who share our commitment to enhancing Highland Park. One way to get involved is through tree sponsorships or donations from families, businesses or community partners, which will directly support and enhance the new area. Please contact Christina Bird if you are interested at president@hpeptso.org.
Please note that the project may not be fully complete when school resumes, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding as these improvements take shape.

We’re still looking for community partners, donors, and supporters too. If you’re interested in contributing or learning more, please email Christina Bird by clicking the button below, and we’ll connect with you.
Thank you for being a part of the “Park in the Park” journey—together, we can create a space that brings our community closer for years to come.
